Nyungwe in the SW Rwanda is an afro-montane forest famous home to great variety of primates including man’s closest relative the Chimps. While butterflies a variety of orchids and 300 species of birds are on record. Cultural sites, Butare
museum and Nyanza Palace give great insights about this great nation.
DAY 1: Arrival – Kigali
On arrival, you will be met by our staff at Kanombe Airport in Kigali; he will help you with your luggage to the car. After check in to your hotel, he will brief you about Rwanda, your travel itinerary, culture and all other important information. And if time allows you can do city tour; the Genocide memorial, Crafts market and Cultural centers.
DAY 2: To Nyungwe Forest
After breakfast, drive SW to Nyungwe Forest National Park, pass by Butare the traditional palace of Rwanda’s Former King in Nyanza, Botanical Gardens, a cultural museum, green fields of tea scattered across the hillsides and the small wooden houses unique to the areas surrounding Nyungwe Forest.
DAY 3: Chimpanzee tracking
After breakfast go chimp tracking in the largest forest in Central Africa, watch out for an array of butterflies and the acrobatic primates like the canopy dwelling black and white Columbus monkeys.
DAY 4: Nyungwe Forest an Community tour
After breakfast do a community or nature walk; visit the community to see how they live, traditions, cultures and the social economics of the people as you watch a colorful array of birds like Rwenzori turaco and black and white casqued hornbill; enjoy a picnic lunch before returning back to you hotel in the evening.
DAY 5: Return to Kigali and departure
After breakfast drive to Kigali for Lunch and after Lunch leisure around before transferring to the airport for your departure.
